Sock Wrapping Technique by #fave4girl @absolutestrengthstylist
I shampooed my hair with Beyond Big Volume Shampoo and then used the Take Me To Tahiti One Minute Moisture Mask. After I got out of the shower I brushed my hair and towel dried it very well, and applied Up for Air Air Dry Cream all over. After letting my hair air dry for about an hour, I took 2 knee-high socks and a clipped one on top of my head with a duckbill clip, and used it as one of the three strands for my three stranded braid. I took my hair into 2 sections one on the right side and one on the left side and simply braided my hair with the sock, and used a hair tie at the ends. I then slept with that in my hair, and took it out the next morning. I applied Texture Takeover Oomph Enhancing Texturizing Hairspray and it was good to go. Using the sock as one of my three strands in the braids creates a more wavy look and a less crimped look like a regular three stranded braid would give you.
Braided Pigtail Technique by #fave4girl @kayla_benay
This is sooo simple all I did was 2 braids. I let my hair mostly air dry then before bed threw some braids in and slept in them! Braid them closer to your face to have the waves more around your face and a little softer in the back. Also the key is the right tension! You want to slowly loosen the tension as you braid down otherwise the waves will be really tight at the bottom and not evenly through out!! Space Bun Technique by @fave4girldanielle
I have very thick, long hair. In order for my hair to get the level of wave I want I have to split my hair into two space buns to air dry. My air dry regime include Hydra Help Shampoo + Take Me To Tahiti One Minute Moisture Mask as my shower prep. After I've towel-dried my hair I apply a cocktail of Up for Air Air Dry Cream with Had Me At Hibiscus Hair Oil. This gives my thick hair the extra hydration it needs to prevent frizz. I then split my hair into two sections and create a high pigtail on one side. I then twist my hair and create a bun, I do the same on the other side. In the morning I may add some Texture Takeover Oomph Enhancing Texturizing Hairspray if I feel I need more volume.

"I DON'T TEASE MY HAIR, WHY DO I NEED A TEASING BRUSH?"...Meet our fave Teasing Brush
Let's talk multi-tasking, it's a way of life these days and the more you can do with one item the better, am I right? You might not be a 'teaser' but what you can do with this handy dandy brush is mind blowing!
What's super cool and scientific about our fave Teasing Brush is it has elevated tourmaline enhanced nylon bristles that penetrate any hair texture while emitting negative ions for hair conditioning. Cool, right?!
However, the magic happens when you become a multitasking wizard with this bad boy...
1.) Add a boost of volume at the root by back combing a section underneath then smoothing on top with the elevated tourmaline bristles.
2.) Use after spraying with Dirty to Flirty Dry Shampoo through roots to absorb oil and help restyle second day hair.
3.) Section-off hair and get the perfect center part for double braids & pigtails.
4.) Loosen freshly curled sections by running the pointed end vertically through the curl or wave.
5.) Spray your fave hairspray on the bristles before using it to smooth back pesky flyaways. Perfect for ponytail, braid and bun styling.
6.) Insert the pointy end and slide the handle through tightly pulled back hair to lift and give volume.
7.) Use with Vertical Volume Root Lift to create a super-slick backed look for ponytails or buns. Spray liberally in dry hair then quickly brush back to create a sleek look. Once the Vertical Volume dries, hair will have a shiny hold!
8.) Tease it! Tease any ponytail or hair that’s down to create a fuller look. Spray with Texture Takeover Oomph Enhancing Hairspray for double the volume.
9.) Pointy end is perfect for sectioning hair horizontally for clip-in extensions. Then, tease slightly where the clips go (and spray with Texture Takeover) to create a budge proof foundation for extension clips!
10.) Create a dramatic side part then brush over for gorgeous, trendy styles and side ponies!
fave4 Styling Tip: The just right length tail handle, on this brush, is ideal for picking up hair sections while styling. This is SUPER important so you're not adding oils from your fingers to your hair while styling.

For styling fine hair spritz hair with Vertical Volume Alcohol Free Root Lift to give grip while you style. It also helps hold the style without the use of hairspray.
FOR BOY HAIR:
The only fave4 boy uses a small amount of Matte Made Shaping Cream, after brushing, to give his thick hair structure with a light hold. It helps keep it out of his face all day! He can also achieve the style easily by himself in the mornings.

If you've ever tried to get knots and tangles out of a kids hair you know it's about as fun as going to the dentist! If the brush is not designed to get out knots it's going hurt and that is where the tears set in and hair breakage can occur.
We like a nice glide when we brush that makes our hair and scalp feel good. Insert our fave Detangling Brush - a brush the #fave4girls designed because of our kids. This brush, while designed with our kids in mind, is gentle enough to use on all hair types and textures, even extensions (YES, really!) ROUND & ROUND WE WENT...Meet our fave Round Brush for Blowouts
If you're going to be round brushing your hair protecting it should be your #1 priority. As you know excessive heat can cause breakage and make hair feel brittle and dry...no one has time for that!
In our 20+ years in the haircare business the #fave4girls have used LOTS of round brushes, some we're good while others burned off chunks of our hair!! We took all the best parts from the brushes we liked and created the fave Round Brush. When paired with a styling product that protects from heat damage, like out Smooth for Sure Blowout Cream, your hair will stay healthy and strong!
So why is this round brush is one of a kind? Well, it has an extra wide barrel to allow more surface area for drying = quicker dry time (that's huge). The aerated ceramic barrel heats up quickly for fast results, while tourmaline anti-static bristles help moisturize and condition hair. A longer, cushioned handle gives a comfortable, secure grip and nano-silver bristles prevent bacterial growth!

]]>THE ILLUSION CHIGNON
Elegant and refined best describes this stunning illusion chignon. Trust us, it looks a whole lot more difficult than it actually is to achieve! Follow the four simple steps below and have everyone asking, “Who did your hair?”
Hair by: @grandslamglam
Ideal For: All textures of hair, neck to shoulder length
You’ll Need: Texture Takeover Oomph Enhancing Hairspray - Fave Teasing Brush - Bobby Pins - 1 – 1.5” Curling Iron or Wand

Step 2: Flip the top half forward to access the bottom half. Tease the bottom half with Fave Teasing Brush shaping it into a bun. After wrapping the bun pin to secure.
Step 3: Next, flip top part back and curl using a 1-1.5” curling iron or wand. As you curl spray each piece with Texture Takeover Oomph Enhancing Hairspray and tease at the root with the Fave Teasing Brush to create incredible texture and volume.
Step 4: Finish by pulling the curls out with your fingers and place them over the bun molding the shape. Pin to secure.

We’ve always been told that blondes have more fun and we totally get it, Barbie & Farrah were definitely living their best blonde lives! However, growing up in the (late) 70’s & 80’s brunette role models were few and far between. Like many other little girls the three fave4 girls were all brunettes and wondered who to look up to !? Then, there was WONDER WOMAN....a super hero brunette that kicked major a**! She was strong, independent and rocked a hot roller set like no other (a total hair icon)! She would have totally curled with Workable Wear Hairspray to keep those curls perfect throughout all her super adventures!
Diana Ross
A diva in every sense of the word Diana Ross has always exuded a bold sense of swag from her iconic hair to her bold fashion! She defined a generation of African-American women by wearing her natural, embracing her texture. Diana would have used the Take Me To Tahiti One Minute Moisture Mask and Curls & Kisses Curl Cream to define and nourish her gorgeous locks.
Jackie Kennedy Onassis
The voluminous bouffant style our former FLOTUS wore was a major part of her signature look. Jackie O's timeless style would have needed a lot of teasing and a combo of Texture Takeover Oomph Enhancing Hairspray & Style Stay Firm Hold Hairspray. Just add a chic scarf and oversized sunglasses and you can channel your inner Jackie.
Farah Fawcett
When we think of iconic hair, this lady top the charts. Farrah's feathery, blonde curls defined the 70's! The trick to 'The Farrah' is all in the curling. First prep with Workable Wear Shaping Hairspray to hold your style. Using a 3" barrel (or the largest size you have), spray with Workable Wear Shaping Hairspray and curl 2 inch sections at a time, turning your wrist away from you as you curl. The shorter the layers in the front, the more dramatic the flip!

And if you are going to be spending your days at the pool, make sure your wet your hair prior to jumping in with regular water or Take Me To Tahiti or spray it with Dearly Detangled. This will let your hair soak up all the good stuff instead of it soaking up all the chlorine when you jump into the pool.
And then when you're done swimming and you shower, add Take Me To Tahiti as part of your regular shower regimen. The pool and the sun can both be harsh on your hair. But Take Me To Tahiti will keep it healthier than ever before with ingredients like coconut oil, Monoi Oil and shea butter. And remember, fave4 products never contain gluten, parabens, sulfates and pthalates!
Happy Summer!
]]>fave4: What’s your favorite fave4 product and why?
Alex: I love my fave4 Texture Takeover spray! It works amazing with my natural curls to give them textured volume, and it creates the perfect hold for an all day style no matter what the weather or occasion is. It is THE BEST.
fave4: When did you know you wanted to sing, and what has been your biggest obstacle so far?
Alex: I grew up singing in the choir at church, and when I was 9 years old I heard about a voice teacher in my hometown. I begged my parents for lessons. I ended up loving them and the rest is history! The biggest obstacle but also AMAZING but terrifying thing was moving to Nashville. It was definitely an adjustment moving across the country alone to pursue music, but it has been the biggest gift.
fave4: What’s your favorite song you’ve ever recorded, and why?
Alex: Right now I'm in the studio recording my new music and so far, these two songs we've recorded for my upcoming project have been my favorite to record ever. Recording them has felt so natural and truly fun. Sometimes recording can feel really high pressure because I always want to get everything perfect but with this recent project, nothing has felt forced at all.

fave4: What’s your most embarrassing or favorite hairstyle of your past (childhood or teenage years)?
Alex: My favorite hairstyle is the one I recently got. I love it because it's so easy to style when I'm on the go. Plus I think it fits my personality.
fave4: Tell us something most people don’t know about you.
Alex: Ever since I was little I have loved rocks, minerals and gemstones, I collect them, I study them and I love them. Turquoise is my favorite of course.

fave4:What was your most embarrassing or favorite hairstyle growing up?
Tara:My most embarrassing hairstyle was definitely the BUTTERFLY clips!! Whyyyyy was that a thing?!
fave4:What’s your favorite fave4 product and why?
Tara:My favorite product has to be Texture Takeover Oomph Enhancing Hairspray!! It is a LIFESAVER when it comes to doing updos. It gives you just enough grip to create the style but is still super flexible and easy to work with.
fave4:What’s your biggest source of motivation
Tara:My biggest source of motivation is definitely my brother, Chas. He unfortunately, passed away from colon cancer at the age of 19 about 6 years ago now. He’s my best friend, and if I have learned anything from him and my experience with his loss is to GO FOR IT!! Always give 110%. His faith, strength and courage during his battle with cancer taught me that I could do anything. It also showed me how short our lives are, and we need to make the most out of it by doing what we love. With that being said, I finally, at the age of 26, decided to go to cosmetology school and I am so happy I did!! I tried a few other careers, but this one definitely had my name on it!!
I recently shaved my head in memory/honor of Chas and raised money for the B+ Foundation. They have been amazing to work with and have such an incredible team and amazing cause!! They raise money to provide financial assistance to families of children with cancer and help fund research for childhood cancers.
fave4:What part of your job is the most FUN?
Tara:I love all of the people that I get to work with as a professional hairdresser. I love hearing others stories, lives, struggles, successes, etc. It is so empowering to me, and also gives me the opportunity to share mine (and my brothers) story as well. I love being able to motivate others, especially during difficult times.
If you live near Dallas and need hair and makeup help, Tara is one of our faves! @absolutestrengthstylist!
